Workshop on Advocacy and Freedom of Information

As part of the ATLIB project, OBCT organizes a workshop on advocacy and freedom of information with stakeholders from Albania, Italy and Serbia

The workshop aims at fostering the transnational exchange of experiences and best practices between Albanian, Italian and Serbian stakeholders committed to the promotion of freedom of information.

It is divided into two sessions.

The first session is limited to project partners and is dedicated to the discussion of the key findings of the desk study and fieldwork carried out in the first months of the project. It focuses on the methodology of the shadow report and on the organization of report presentations in Belgrade and Tirana;

The second session features some Italian stakeholders working in the field of freedom of information and expression. Each stakeholder is invited to  share their own experience with advocacy activities, presenting different working methodologies, potential challenges and successful stories. The dialogue also aims at stimulating a reflection on the importance of European tools (e.g.: new EU regulations or monitoring mechanisms, such as the Rule of Law Report) to strengthen advocacy efforts at the national level.
