Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo are both engaged in negotiations to join the European Union. As part of the accession process, both countries must align with EU norms and standards across various policy areas. This includes safeguarding media freedom and pluralism, key components covered under Chapter 23 of the accession talks on the Judiciary and Fundamental Rights.

This webinar will mark the official launch of two Shadow Reports on media freedom and EU accession in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo. The reports are produced by the Association of Journalists of Kosovo and Mediacentar Sarajevo, in collaboration with OBC Transeuropa, as part of the Transnational Advocacy for Freedom of Information in the Balkans (ATLIB) project, co-funded by the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The event will explore the current media landscape in both countries from a transnational perspective, analysing its implications for the wider EU integration process. Discussion will focus on highlighting progress, addressing ongoing challenges, and presenting key recommendations for both EU and national stakeholders.
