The Serbian authorities intervened today and granted Massimo Moratti, our correspondent in Belgrade, a 15-day extension pending a decision on the appeal he filed with the authorities in recent days.

Moratti had received an expulsion order from the country on September 4 for “unacceptable risks to the security of the country,” and the renewal of his residence permit had been denied.

The extension granted today therefore allows him to remain in Serbia while awaiting the outcome of the appeal.
