25 years of OBCT: a new website for a changing Europe

Yes, you saw it right: we have had a makeover! After years of growth and engagement with our community, we decided it was time to give our digital space a new look. New design, new features and the same passion for a changing Europe

25anni obct

To celebrate OBCT’s 25th birthday, we offer you a new website, more enjoyable to read and easier to navigate. We have reorganised our archive – articles, videos, interviews, reviews and publications – in order to make it more accessible and facilitate thematic search, intertwining stories and territories. But do not worry: the collection of over 16,000 pieces of content published to date remains at your disposal.

Along with the new graphic design and website structure, we also want to reaffirm our commitment to recounting the events, societies, people and dynamics of a rapidly and tumultuously changing continent: from South Eastern Europe to the Caucasus, passing through Ukraine and Turkey.

Our goal remains to open – together with you – a window to an area that in recent years has proven crucial to our common future. While some of the conflicts and contradictions currently tearing our continent apart are taking shape in this area, it is also here that a new way of imagining Europe and understanding and addressing the challenges of the present can emerge.

Transeuropa is therefore increasingly our trajectory: building a democratic and solidarity-based Europe from the bottom up. This is why we have been closely following European policies, such as those protecting media freedom and civil society, from a transnational perspective for a decade now.

25 years is a significant anniversary: we would not be here celebrating it without your support for our work, your input, your appreciation and your criticism. This presence makes OBCT not just a media outlet and think tank, but a vibrant community, a shared heritage open to the exchange and contamination of ideas and visions.

As we leave you to enjoy the new site, we ask for your help once again: every transition brings with it some imperfections and, despite the efforts of our team, errors and technical problems may occur.

We invite you to report them to us at [email protected], so that we can improve further, together with you.

Enjoy your reading!
